NEW DELHI: There is tremendous news for customers of Reliance Jio. They will get the 5th internet service spectrum within 6 months of allotment. The company can start this facility by mid-2020. According to a government statement, the auction of spectrum for 5G services is done in the second half of 2019. Telecommunication secretary Aruna Sundararaj has given this important information. After the 5G service starts, the download speed will increase 50 to 60 times compared to the 4G. According to a media report, Geo's 5G LTE network is ready and customers will get the benefit of it within five to six months after the spectrum allocation.
According to ET report, the company has started expanding the optic fiber network. Telecommunication Secretary Aruna told Sundararajan that according to the current situation, the spectrum allocation is expected to be in the second half of next year. He said that due to this 5G services, the telecommunication companies will get easy access to the changing market conditions as well as provide better facilities to the next generation.
Telecommunication Secretary Aruna Sundararajan said that the 5G service will be fully run with the help of software. He has informed that the system of this testing facility is being done in other IITs, including the IIT Madras with the help of government government. Apart from this, the spectrum allocation for the 4G service will be done in the next few months for the public sector Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Nigam Telecom Limited (MTNL).
